“The V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless sounds Superb!”
On first look the V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones boxes visuals are very appealing to the eye in it self. You almost kind of want to set it on the shelf after you have opened it. In opening the Croosfade 2 there is a little piece of cloth you have to cut to open the lid. I know It’s small but it does do something for you in presentment.
As you flip the lid back your greeted with some V-Moda crossfade stickers and an instruction manual. Deeper inside are the incased headphones. Inside you’ll find the headset, a 3.5mm inline mic with control button for play, pause, and skip. Cable comes in a convenient velcro wrap that you can stick on the inside of the carry case when in use. Also a USB (flat) charging cord and a 1.5inch adapter included as well. The case itself has a small removable air vent cover just in case you have them on at the gym and they get too sweaty.
The Crossfade Starting with the headband the V-Moda logo is printed across the top and on the sides near the hinges you have smaller V-Moda logos as well. The headband doesnt look like much but I found it to be very comfortably after wearing it for a while. Now the headphone does come with V-Moda’s cliqfold design which wasn’t featured on the previous wireless model but, was showcased on some of their other headphones.
On the outside of the ear cups the Crossfade 2 has interchangeable custom 3d printed face plates that you can get through their website. On the earcups and headband V-Moda utilizes supple vegan leather and comfortable memory foam.
The Crossfade 2’s earcups run pretty deep but there is an XL set you can purchase separately if you feel the need to. The left earcup has a charging port on the bottom. The right has the 3.5mm port also the 2 in 1 power and pairing switch. Further up towards the top you have three bottons for play, pause and skip. You can also feel the plus and minus signs on the bottoms so you can tell which is which.
The V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones are extremely durable the headband is made with a steel flex design and can be stretched out flat without breaking. So if you are used to being on the go tossing things in and out of your bags then you will have no problem out of these, they can take a couple of hits and be just fine.
“V-Moda Does it again, but better”
When it comes to sound stage the bass is really strong The duel diaphragm 50mm drivers deliver explosions you can not only hear but feel, and if you pair them up with the V-Moda boom pro mic for gaming it just hands down phenomenal. From the footsteps of the enemy behind you in Overwatch to the screeching tires and roaring engines of Grand Torismo.
The mid range has a clarity and a very well balance. The sound stage is a little bit mixed, you can feel that some of the instruments are further back than others. The same with vocals, sound is really good. The highs have a smidgen of warmth there but it’s not too high.
When you go to the wired mode, you get a little more resolution, definition and it sounds more natural. It also gives you a tiny slither more warmth and tone compared to the wireless option.
The V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones do come in at a steep price point but, if your all about the fantastic sound, durability, and build quality this is definitely a front runner when it comes to choice and pick. Also if your a DJ who wants high quality sound and something with a great quality build that can be thrown around is another thing to consider. You can get both durability and still have good sound while your mixing. These are almost along the same lines of the Sennheiser HD1 headphones in comparison and if you are in need of something more portable with high end design and sound check out the AKG N60NC Wireless headset. This headset set is offered at $349.00 for your enjoyment.
